About

Pradnya Panchal began working at Sawantwadi Lacquerwares in 2008. Pradnya studied Ganjifa under the tutelage of Rajmata. She remembers practising the ganjifa borders on scrap paper first, and only after completing them was she permitted to move on to the real cards. It took her around 6 months to gain Rajmata's trust. Rajmata promoted Pradnya to the next level of training (after nearly two years of working with Rajmata), when she was given the opportunity to put her designs on jewellery boxes and candles. Pradnya worked at Sawantwadi Lacquerwares till 2012, when she relocated for a few years. She returned to Sawantwadi in 2019 and joined us as at Memeraki. She is a mother of a three-year-old son, and while balancing family and business can be challenging at times, her love of the art form has kept her going. Pradnya Panchal is doing really well now, thanks to the Bhonsle Family and Yuvrani Shraddharaje Bhonsle. Yuvrani greatly believes in sustaining and growing the female force and encourages women to put ourselves out there and prove ourselves, especially when one is so gifted.
