Shanti Devi Paswaan

Shanti Devi has been a painter since she was a child. She is one of the artists from the NGO Apper, which is headed by Rama Bharti in the Bihar village of Madhubani. Thank  to Rama Bharti and her tireless efforts in these communities where she operates a school to teach Madhubani art to females so that they may paint and earn a life. Madhubani art has enabled many women in Bihar, such as Shanti Devi, to become economically independent.
