About Suraj Kumar Sahu

Suraj Kumar Sahu, a talented artist specializing in Sikki art, hails from the picturesque town of Madhubani, Bihar, where he has honed his craft for over a decade under the guidance of Dhirendra Kumar ji. Suraj's artistic journey is a family affair, with his brother and sister also contributing to the vibrant tapestry of Sikki art, though his sister has since moved on to other pursuits. Despite his artistic prowess, Suraj completed his graduation in history and arts from Bihar, demonstrating his commitment to both academic and creative pursuits.

Suraj's portfolio is diverse, featuring a myriad of portraits ranging from political figures like Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to divine entities such as Lord Buddha and Lord Shiva. His thematic exploration extends to village life, depicting scenes of rural simplicity and cultural richness. While Suraj primarily works on paper, his creativity knows no bounds, often extending to mediums like MDF board. Despite the challenges of commercial viability in India due to cost constraints, Suraj's dedication to his art remains unwavering, fueled by the support of his community and his fervent desire to provide employment opportunities and elevate the status of Sikki art both locally and nationally.
