Vasant Manubhai Chitara, a native of Vasana, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is a seasoned artist renowned for his mastery of Mata ni Pachedi, a traditional art form of Gujarat. With a legacy spanning eight generations, Vasant embarked on his artistic journey at the tender age of 10, following in the footsteps of his forefathers. Under the guidance of his father, who inherited the art from his grandfather, Vasant honed his skills and became a proficient practitioner of Mata ni Pachedi.

Despite his modest educational background, having completed his studies up to class 10, Vasant's passion for art has been unwavering. Mata ni Pachedi holds a special place in his heart, representing not just a livelihood but also a cherished family tradition. Through his intricate artworks, Vasant pays homage to Gujarat's rich cultural heritage, depicting scenes inspired by mythology and spirituality. As an eighth-generation artist, he continues to preserve and promote this unique art form, ensuring its legacy endures for generations to come.
