The tradition of Gond painting is fairly new, but the subjec of Gond painting is as old is as the story of the Gond tribe. The Gond are an Adivasi community, spread across Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh. Our story takes us to Patangarh in the Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh where, traditionally Pardhans - storytellers and priests, would keep the history and the tales of the tribe alive by composing songs and singing them while performing rituals.
