About the Artwork +
In the hushed sanctum of artistic mastery, this brass plate touched by the elegance of Marodi craft, emerges as a piece of devotion and craftsmanship. At the center of this vibrant plate, stands the divine form of Shrinathji on a lotus pedestal, adorned in his resplendent attire along with an elaborate Vyajantimala and Mayur Pankh tucked in his headgear. He is flanked on either side by Radha and Krishna, a divine pair, revered as a symbol of eternal love. The pure mastery of the artisans is evident in this vibrant delicacy that dances around the central theme of mythology and tradition. Marodi craft infused with the ancient art of Meenakari has resulted in a kaleidoscope of hues, growing in a vibrant garden of colours. Shades of pink and red, reminiscent of the lotus blooms that adorn temple ponds, mingle with a myriad of other colors, creating a symphony of visual delight.
Marodi artistry carries a centuries-old tradition that connects the past with the present. In contemporary times, there are just a few artisans with such skills to achieve the level of fineness evident in the piece. The intricate patterns and themes engraved into the plate carry layers of symbolism and significance. Inspired by the Pichwai painting of Rajasthan, it narrates a story of Indian mythology where the timeless form of love and devotion transcend mortal boundaries. At the same time, it denotes a symbol of prestige, refined taste, and appreciation for the finer things in life.
