About the Artwork +
Anjali Vakil portrays an exquisite work of art that transports the viewers to the enchanting world of divine love and celebration. At its heart, a central embroidery in rich hues of red and green takes centre stage, a resplendent flower that serves as the focal point of this intricate artwork. This magnificent flower symbolises the core of the Raas Mandal, radiating its vivid colours and vibrant energy. It serves as a testament to the beauty and passion that love can bring into one's life. Surrounding the central flower are figures of Lord Krishna and the Gopis. Their presence symbolises the divine love story that transcends the mortal and celestial realms. With hands connected to each other, they stand in a circle of devotion and unity. Beneath Krishna and the Gopis, the graceful swans are depicted, symbolising purity and elegance. These birds, known for their grace and beauty, add an element of serenity to the composition, highlighting the transcendent nature of love. The border of the painting is adorned with the regal peacock and the gentle deer. The peacock, with its vibrant plumage, represents the allure of love, while the deer's presence signifies gentleness and grace. The entire composition is further enhanced by motifs of different flowers connected with intricate vines that wrap around the central scene. The artwork is a visual narrative that celebrates the eternal bond between Lord Krishna, the Gopis, and the natural world, reminding us of the unifying and enduring power of love.
