About the Artwork +
Manoranjan Chitrakar portrays the sacred tale of Lord Krishna's divine Rasleela, a spectacle of love, music, and celestial grace. At the heart of the composition, Lord Krishna, the divine flute player, stands in an enchanting pose. With his melodious flute in hand, he symbolises the cosmic musician and the embodiment of divinity and love. His attire is adorned in hues of resplendent blue, and his aura is one of ethereal radiance. By Lord Krishna's side stands Radha, the epitome of devotion and love. She is adorned in white ornaments, signifying purity and spiritual affection. Her gaze upon Lord Krishna conveys a profound connection and devotion that transcends the earthly realm. Around this celestial couple, the Gopis dance in an array of vibrant, swirling colors. Their varied attire and dynamic poses reflect the diversity of devotion, as they are drawn to Lord Krishna's divine presence. In the foreground, a deer and a peacock share in the enchantment of the moment, symbolising the harmonious coexistence of all creatures in the divine dance of creation. The deer's gentle grace and the peacock's resplendent plumage add a touch of the natural world to the scene. The lush background, rendered in vivid shades of green, complements the vibrant dance of colours and emotions at the forefront. The artwork celebrates the divine Rasleela, a testament to the enduring power of love and devotion in Hindu mythology.
