About the Artwork +
Manoranjan Chitrakar portrays a profound and timeless scene from the epic Mahabharata as Lord Krishna imparts his divine wisdom to the valiant warrior Arjuna. At the centre of the painting, Lord Krishna, the Supreme God and the eternal charioteer, imparts his teachings to Arjuna, who stands with a bow in hand, representing his role as the great warrior. Krishna's teachings are a reflection of the Bhagavad Gita, a scripture filled with profound spiritual and philosophical insights. By the side of Lord Krishna stands a majestic chariot, an emblem of divine guidance and support. It is ready for battle, with Arjuna and Krishna at the helm, symbolising the spiritual journey of life with God as the charioteer. In the background, a breathtaking depiction of Lord Vishnu's colossal cosmic form emerges. This awe-inspiring avatar, as depicted in the Mahabharata, underscores the omnipresence and omnipotence of the divine, signifying that Lord Krishna is not only Arjuna's charioteer but also the Supreme Being. This painting beautifully encapsulates the essence of the Mahabharata, particularly the profound teachings found in the Bhagavad Gita.
