About the Artwork +
Sanjay Chittara portrays a symbol of divine protection and guidance for those who navigate the unpredictable waters of the sea. She holds a unique patronage as the guardian deity of sailors, and her presence is of utmost importance to seafarers, traders, Rajputs, and the Vaghri community alike. In the painting, Vahanvati Mata is seated regally atop a majestic boat, its sails billowing with the winds of adventure and discovery. The boat serves as her divine vehicle, symbolising her dominion over the vast expanse of the sea. The hooves of the vahan, firmly planted on the deck, reflect her unwavering presence and support, ensuring the safe passage of all who venture into the waters. The waves beneath the boat are alive with vibrant aquatic life, teeming with the wonders of the deep. The painting is a visual tribute to the goddess who guides and safeguards those who embark on journeys over the boundless seas, seeking her protection and blessings.
