About the Artwork +
This stunning Mysore painting by Raghavendra BB showcases the divine assembly of seven deities in a harmonious circular composition, exuding spiritual magnificence and intricate artistry. At the center stands Lord Balaji, resplendent in deep blue tones, adorned with exquisite gold ornaments and intricate carvings, embodying divine grace and protection. Flanking the central figure are Goddess Lakshmi, seated gracefully on a blooming lotus symbolizing prosperity, and Goddess Saraswathi, holding her veena, radiating knowledge and wisdom. At the top, Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is depicted with his iconic elephant head and serene demeanor, alongside Lord Murukan, radiant and youthful, embodying valor and divinity. Below, on the left, Kubera, the god of wealth, is portrayed with a content expression and richly adorned, representing abundance and fortune. To the right, Akkamadevi, a celebrated saint and poetess, is depicted in traditional attire, holding a lamp, symbolizing devotion and enlightenment. The backdrop of lush greenery and flowing rivers provides a tranquil natural setting, emphasizing harmony between divinity and nature. The delicate strokes, vibrant palette, and fine gold detailing characteristic of Mysore art enhance the painting’s grandeur, while the round frame creates a balanced and cohesive visual. This artwork is a splendid representation of the rich spiritual heritage, reverence for deities, and artistic finesse of Mysore’s traditional painting style, bringing together devotion, culture, and artistic brilliance in a single frame.
