About the Artwork +
Mridu Moucham Bora's "The Royal Procession of Swargadeu" presents a captivating glimpse into Assamese royal life through the lens of traditional miniature painting. Rendered in the distinct style of Assamese Royal Miniature, this artwork employs traditional colors on Sanchipat, a paper crafted from Agarwood bark. The scene unfolds with meticulous attention to detail, showcasing the opulence and grandeur of a royal procession led by Swargadeu, the heavenly king. Against the backdrop of lush landscapes and vibrant flora, the painting captures the essence of Assamese royalty, highlighting the intricate rituals and customs that defined daily life in the region.
Nature serves as both a setting and a source of inspiration in "The Royal Procession of Swargadeu," enriching the composition with its abundant beauty and symbolism. The lush greenery and sprawling landscapes depicted in the artwork evoke the natural splendor of Assam, contributing to the overall richness of the scene. Through careful brushwork and skillful composition, Bora brings the royal procession to life, infusing each element with a sense of majesty and significance. The process of creating this masterpiece likely involved extensive research into historical sources and cultural traditions, followed by meticulous planning and execution to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of every detail.
