About the Artwork +
Mridu Moucham Bora's traditional Assamese painting, titled "Tuk Tsi Ta," encapsulates the essence of the Tai (Phake) style originating from Assam. In this artwork, nature and daily life intertwine seamlessly, reflecting the profound connection between the Tai community and their environment. The vibrant depiction of landscapes, flora, and fauna resonates with the rhythm of rural life in Assam, where every aspect of nature holds deep cultural significance. Through intricate brushstrokes and vivid colors, Bora captures the tranquility and beauty of Tuk Tsi Ta, transporting viewers to a realm where the sacred and the mundane coexist harmoniously.
The meticulous details within the painting reveal Bora's dedication to preserving the authenticity of the Tai (Phake) style. Each element, from the lush foliage to the serene waters, is rendered with precision and care, evoking a sense of reverence for the natural world. The unique blend of realism and stylization in Bora's work adds layers of depth and complexity to the portrayal of Tuk Tsi Ta, offering viewers a glimpse into the Tai community's spiritual and cultural heritage. Through a meticulous process of observation and interpretation, Bora brings the essence of Tuk Tsi Ta to life on canvas, creating a captivating narrative that celebrates the enduring traditions and rich cultural tapestry of Assam's Tai (Phake) community.
