About the Artwork +
Dolon Kundu's terracotta masterpiece unfolds a serene moment from the Ramayana, capturing the scene of "Shabari ke Ber". In this evocative portrayal, Shabari delicately tests each ber before offering it to Lord Ram. The terracotta technique employed by the award-winning artist breathes life into this heartfelt narrative, showcasing the artist's remarkable skill in sculpting intricate figures.
The terracotta medium requires precision and focus, and Dolon Kundu's expertise is evident in the meticulous detailing of the characters. Shabari's expression, as she tenderly examines each ber, reflects devotion and anticipation. The technique brings forth a tactile quality, enhancing the viewer's connection with the scene.
Beyond the characters, Dolon Kundu's attention extends to the surrounding elements. The intricate rendering of Ram, Lakshman, and Shabari's hair and the lush jungle backdrop adds depth and authenticity to the artwork. Every leaf and texture is carefully sculpted, contributing to the overall immersive experience.
