About Naushad
2008 National Award Winner Naushad Ali Khatri belongs to family of Khatris, he along with his parents and siblings have been practicing this Bandhani art for decades. His father Khatri Jakariya Umar Terai is also a 1987 National Award winning bandhani artist. He is the owner of J.U.K Bandhani designs, and he is a recipient of KamalaDevi Chattopadya Award 1991-92. His father believed that this artform should be widely practiced, and because of this he started training people especially women to make them self-sufficient.
