Santosh Kumar Dhanopia, a sixth-generation artist hailing from Sanganer, Jaipur, is a stalwart in the world of traditional handblock printing. With a legacy passed down from his grandfather and father, Santosh has not only preserved but also elevated the art form to new heights.

His dedication to his craft is evident in his academic pursuits, having completed a Ph.D. in Art from the Global Human Peace University in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His talent has been recognized with prestigious awards, including the National Award in 2004 and the Rajasthan State Award.

Santosh's innovative projects, such as collaborating with Google on Devanagari script calligraphy and creating blocks for printing on Pashmina shawls, showcase his mastery and creativity. His commitment to blending traditional Sanganeri handblock printing with contemporary elements reflects his adaptability and vision.

Despite challenges posed by modern printing techniques, Santosh remains resolute in his mission to promote and preserve handblock printing. Through his work, he not only sustains a family tradition but also provides employment opportunities for 30-35 individuals.
