About

Tashi's artistic journey is a testament to his dedication and passion for Thangka art. His pursuit of this intricate art form began over a decade ago, driven by the encouragement of his father, who worked as a government official in the handicraft department in Ladakh. As a first-generation artist in his family, Tashi embraced painting as his creative path.

To refine his skills and deepen his understanding of Thangka art, Tashi spent five years studying at the Himachal Pradesh Vocational Training Center. His commitment to mastering this traditional Buddhist art form is reflected in his words when he speaks about it, emphasizing the meticulous precision and intricacy that characterizes Thangka art.

Tashi's desire to pass on this rich legacy is admirable. His aspiration to teach the next generation ensures the preservation and continuation of Thangka art, allowing more young artists to appreciate and carry forward this timeless tradition. Tashi's dedication to both his craft and its transmission to future artists is a testament to the enduring beauty and significance of Thangka Buddhist Art.
