About the Artwork +
Mridu Moucham Bora's "ARISTA HASTI" exemplifies the timeless beauty of Assamese Royal Miniature painting, executed with traditional colors on Sanchipat, a unique paper made from Agarwood bark. Rooted in Assam's rich cultural heritage, this painting style reflects the deep connection between nature, daily life, and artistic expression in the region. In "ARISTA HASTI," Bora skillfully captures the essence of Assamese royal life, portraying scenes that blend elements of nature with the grandeur of royal courts. The meticulous details in this painting, from the intricate patterns adorning the elephants to the delicate brushwork used to depict royal attire, demonstrate Bora's mastery of the Assamese Royal Miniature style.
Nature serves as both a backdrop and a source of inspiration in "ARISTA HASTI", with lush landscapes and vibrant flora enhancing the beauty of the royal scenes depicted. The process of creating this traditional Assamese painting likely involves careful planning and precise execution, with Bora drawing on both artistic techniques and cultural knowledge to convey the regal splendor of the subject matter. Each stroke of the brush is imbued with significance, capturing the majesty and grace of the elephants and the opulence of the royal court. Through "ARISTA HASTI," Bora offers viewers a window into Assam's royal past, celebrating the region's rich artistic heritage and the enduring influence of nature on its cultural identity.
