About the Artwork +
This exquisite piece of Jogi Art by Govind Bhai Bharthri depicts Goddess Lakshmi in a unique and intricate black-and-white style, staying true to the traditional Jogi art form. The goddess is illustrated with a serene and composed expression, embodying prosperity, abundance, and purity. She is adorned with simple yet elegant jewelry, including necklaces and a prominent bindi on her forehead, which highlight her divine and sacred status. Goddess Lakshmi is shown with four arms, each holding symbolic objects and gestures. In two of her hands, she holds traditional pots tilted outward, from which tiny beads flow, symbolizing the endless wealth and blessings she bestows upon her devotees. Her other hands are raised in graceful mudras, exuding blessings and protection.
Her attire is decorated with delicate patterns and dots, adding a meticulous layer of texture to her sari, which gracefully flows down her figure. She stands on a blooming lotus, which signifies purity and spiritual growth, floating on calm, wavy lines that represent water. Surrounding her on the ground is a snake-like border, which may symbolize protection, spiritual energy, or the cycle of life. The overall composition uses detailed linework and patterns typical of Jogi Art, with fine strokes that give life to every element in the piece. Govind Bhai Bharthri’s skillful detailing and expressive linework bring a sense of reverence and grace to this portrayal of the goddess, embodying both cultural depth and spiritual artistry.
