About the Artwork +
Experience the mesmerizing artwork of Sanjay Tandekar, featuring a painting of Rani Sati Dadi Ma. The story of Rani Sati Dadi Ma originates from the time of Mahabharata, where Uttara, the wife of Abhimanyu, was devastated upon learning of her husband's death. Driven by her deep devotion, she expressed her desire to perform Sati, the act of joining her husband in death. While Sati is regarded as highly virtuous, the elders in Uttara's family advised against it, considering it sinful rather than meritorious in her particular circumstance. Through his artistry, the artist skillfully blends ancient Indian culture with a contemporary mindset, reflecting the evolution of beliefs and values. Sanjay Tandekar's painting captures the essence of this profound tale, showcasing the convergence of tradition and modernity. Immerse yourself in the depth of emotions and the rich cultural tapestry depicted in this remarkable artwork.
