This exquisite Kalamkari painting by Ghanshyam Sarode is a blend of two Kalamkari styles - the drawing in the Narayanpet style and the painting in the Srikalahasti tradition. This composition features a vast landscape of biodiversity, moving beyond a single tree to depict an entire ecosystem. The scene is anchored by a large, central mound of blue water at the bottom, teeming with lotus flowers, fish, and aquatic birds. Rising from this water is a dense, interwoven network of branches that form a lattice-like "Tree of Life," populated by a vibrant community of monkeys, deer and diverse birds.

Moving away from the muted olive tones of the other pieces, this work utilizes a bold and traditional palette of deep madder red, indigo blue, and ochre yellow. The two primary peacocks flank the central lattice, their massive tails fanned out in a vertical display of indigo and red patterned feathers. Scattered throughout the upper branches are various species of field birds and songbirds, deer stand under the canopy, while monkeys are nestled within the foliage, creating a sense of a bustling, sacred forest. The intricate line work defines every scale of the fish and every leaf on the vine, showcasing the precision of the bamboo "kalam".

The entire composition is enclosed in a geometric chevron border in red and white, which provides a structured frame for the organic chaos of the forest. The background remains a natural cream, treated with the signature milk and myrobalan process to ensure the longevity of the vegetable dyes. By incorporating such a wide variety of flora and fauna, Ghanshyam Sarode has created a monumental vision of the interconnectedness of all life, transforming the painting into a grand narrative of the natural world.

Please note that all our Kalamkari wall hangings are completely hand-drawn and hand-painted using natural dyes. Because of the handmade process, the final piece may have slight variations in colours, motifs, and detailing compared to the reference image shared.

These small differences are a natural part of the Kalamkari craft and make each artwork unique and original. We assure you that the overall design, theme, and aesthetic will closely follow the approved reference.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

All artworks are handmade and couriered securely packed in a tube.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
