In this compelling Gond artwork, Dhneshwar Dhurwey explores the delicate tension of the forest ecosystem. Originating in the tribal Gond community of Madhya Pradesh, which lives in close communion with nature, these paintings portray a strong belief that every aspect of nature is animate and sacred.

This composition is a masterful study of movement and stillness, illustrating the instinctive alertness that defines life in the wild. The central pillar of the work, the trunk, is filled with a dense, grey stippling pattern which creates a vibrating energy that flows upward into a sprawling canopy. The foliage is rendered in dense, cloud-like clusters of fine black linework, providing a monochromatic backdrop that makes the vibrant inhabitants of the tree surge with life.

A sense of mounting restlessness permeates the branches, where numerous birds in brilliant shades of orange, blue and green are perched. While some sit in watchful silence, others are portrayed mid-flight with wings outstretched, their frantic motion suggesting a sudden disturbance in the forest’s peace. This agitation finds its cause at the base of the trunk in the form of the partially obscured face of a tiger peeking out from behind the trunk. With large, stylized eyes and a subtle, predatory expression, the tiger introduces a primal tension.

At the very roots of the composition, the cycle of life remains precariously balanced. A small nest cradling three brightly colored eggs sits at the foot of the tree, flanked by a row of birds that look upward in unison. This grounded element emphasizes the vulnerability of new life amidst the looming presence of the predator.

This painting proudly depicts Dhneshwar Ji's signature patterns, inspired by the custard apple, the leaves of the Saja tree and mustard seeds.Through this interplay of characters, the artist captures a single, breathless moment of forest intuition, honouring the watchful intelligence that governs the natural world.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.
