The Deer-Tree in Gond by Dhneshwar Dhurwey

This striking Gond composition by artist Dhneshwar Dhurwey features two deer whose bodies merge to form the primary trunk of a flourishing tree. Originating in the tribal Gond community of Madhya Pradesh, which lives in close communion with nature, these paintings portray a strong belief that every aspect of nature is animate and sacred.

The painting centers on the figures of two deer,one superimposed on the other, creating a solid base that anchors the composition. Their bodies are rendered with a sophisticated combination of rhythmic patterns. The most distinctive element is the transformation of their antlers. As they reach upward, the antlers transition into sturdy, striped branches that support the weight of the forest canopy.

The upper portion of the artwork features several large clusters of foliage, each filled with fine, radial patterns. These leaf masses provide a resting place for several birds, rendered in vibrant shades of blue and pink. The birds are strategically placed, some perched atop the high branches, others nestled within the curve of the deer’s antlers, adding a sense of life and song to the still, grounded figures of the deer.

The entire narrative is set against a clean background that emphasizes the "deer-tree" as the central axis of the ecosystem. The base of the trunk is textured with dark, vertical lines, suggesting roots that draw strength directly from the earth. This painting proudly depicts Dhneshwar Ji's signature patterns, inspired by the custard apple, the leaves of the Saja tree and mustard seeds.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
