This intricate Gond masterpiece by artist Dhneshwar Dhurwey presents a surreal fusion of music, humanity and nature, illustrating the deep-rooted connection between cultural expression and the environment. In the Gond tradition, which often personifies natural elements, this work reimagines the ‘Tree of Life’ as a source of both spiritual light and rhythmic sound.

The central trunk is transformed into a human figure whose body is composed of traditional musical instruments. The core of the figure is a large, orange-hued drum (dholak), intricately patterned with rhythmic linework that suggests the resonance of sound. Above the drum, a pair of slender arms reach upward, the hands interlocking to form a protective canopy over a glowing lamp (diya). The flame of the diya sits atop the figure's neck, casting a symbolic light that illuminates the surrounding foliage.

From this musical torso, branches in a striking orange-red hue sprout outward, supporting a massive, cloud-like canopy of leaves. The foliage is rendered in the signature Gond style, a dense, meticulously detailed texture of fine black lines that creates a sense of immense depth and vibration. Nestled within the branches are smaller instruments, further suggesting that the tree grows from the very songs and rhythms of the community.

At the base of the composition, the roots of the tree extend like limbs, accompanied by large, watchful eyes that peer from the earth. This element grounds the artwork in the belief that the forest is a sentient, observing being. This painting proudly depicts Dhneshwar Ji's signature patterns, inspired by the custard apple, the leaves of the Saja tree and mustard seeds.

Through this unique combination of a ‘musical trunk’ and a ‘living flame', Dhurwey’s composition stands as a powerful tribute to the harmony between human creativity and the natural world.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

All artworks are handmade and couriered securely in transit safe packaging sutaible for the artwork.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
