This evocative Gond masterpiece by Dhneshwar Dhurwey is a profound visual articulation of the symbiotic relationship between humanity and the natural world. Central to the composition is a towering, intricate tree that functions less as a botanical entity and more as a living, collective ecosystem. The trunk and lower branches are home to a family of elephants, rendered with distinct Gondi patterns, yet remarkably anthropomorphized; they possess human-like hands, suggesting that the animal and human are not distinct, but share a common, fragile existence. Higher in the canopy, bird families nest peacefully, while the branches themselves take on subtle human silhouette with a face, blurring the line between the flora and the consciousness that inhabits it.

Below this complex canopy stands a lone woodcutter, axe in hand, looking upward. This figure represents the singular, destructive force of human industry. By placing the woodcutter at the base of a tree that contains not just birds and elephants, but human-like forms within its very branches, Dhurwey illustrates the ultimate tragedy of deforestation: the act of cutting the tree is, in essence, an act of self-harm. The painting embodies the core Gond worldview, that all aspects of nature are interconnected and exist in harmony, where the survival of the forest is synonymous with the survival of the spirits, the animals, the birds and the humans who dwell within it. No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
