The Tiger's Ecosystem in Gond by Dhneshwar Dhurwey

This striking Gond painting by artist Dhneshwar Dhurwey centers on a tiger whose very form contains an entire ecosystem. Originating from the Gond tribe of Madhya Pradesh, the work utilizes a vibrant red backdrop to make the intricate, monochromatic linework of the central figure pop, emphasizing the spiritual belief that all life forms are inextricably linked.

The composition is dominated by the large, seated figure of a tiger, whose body serves as the literal soil for a flourishing tree. Emerging from the tiger’s head, the tree’s branches sprawl upward and outward, mirroring the curvature of the animal's back. The tree is meticulously detailed with rhythmic leaf patterns and textured bark, housing several blue and orange birds that represent the vitality of the forest. Within the foliage, green nests cradling speckled eggs are visible, signifying birth and the sanctuary provided by the apex predator.

Three tiger cubs, appearing to emerge from behind the foliage are rendered with the same dot-and-line technique. The tiger’s face, positioned at the bottom center, looks forward with a serene expression, its whiskers transforming into small, budding branches that further blur the line between animal and plant. A row of birds are perched upon the tiger’s tail. This painting proudly depicts Dhneshwar Ji's signature patterns, inspired by the custard apple, the leaves of the Saja tree and mustard seeds.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

All artworks are handmade and couriered securely in transit safe packaging sutaible for the artwork.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
